Book Review- Not Without My Daughter by Betty Mahmoody

Where do I even begin to describe this book. It is a fascinating (yet disturbing) book, based on a true story which will literally give you creeps. It did, to me. This is a story of an American woman, Betty who goes to Iran with her (Iranian) husband to meet his family but soon finds out that her husband won't return back to American and neither would he let her and their daughter back. It is a story of her struggles, the cultural difference she faces especially when she never even imagined herself or her daughter ever being there.

The book is very well written. It makes you feel as if you are a part of it, like a passerby looking at what all is happening and before you even know, you start praying for things to happen a certain way. You can't wait for the book to finish, not because you lose interest in it, but you just get very curious to know what happens to her and struggles to keep herself and her daughter safe.

A must read.
